My favourite Donald Sutherland film. Demolition derby footage from opening sequence 02:45-04:10. No film characters are directly involved in this footage, apart from some cabin shots of Donald driving with these as a backdrop, so this may well be true, so have not created pages apart from the Dodge Power breakdown truck. Comments/IDs as supplied before page clean-up. 707 is an early '50s Plymouth and black/white 95 is a 1958 Mercury (CougarTim) The silver car is a 1957 Chrysler of some kind. (Ddey65) One of the two pics of the '57 Chrysler also includes a 1956-57 Lincoln. (Ddey65) Yellow 82 is a 1956 Lincoln (CougarTim) #44 Late-1950s Mercury. Man, they go as fast as Star Trek extras with red uniforms. (Ddey65) Black 44 is yet another 1957 Mercury (CougarTim) #169 - 1953 Chevrolet unknown. (Ddey65) 1953 Chevrolet One-Fifty Special (rjluna2) The car in the claw is a 1951 Chevrolet (CougarTim) 1957 Ford (CougarTim) -- Last edit: 2013-04-07 01:05:41 |

It's a great film, very funny, chaotic, and well recommended so deserved a good attempt. Thanks to everyone who helped (particularly with my technical problems). |

Planes for impdb: Consolidated PBY Catalina - http://www.answers.com/topic/consolidated-pby-catalina . The gang's attempts to get a derelict one flying again are a main part of the storyline - lots of footage inside and out with these just a selection (titles include the timing). A plane may have been harmed during the making of this film. A second example in a US Navy hangar (or could actually be the first one cleaned up if the producers cheated??) I love the Catalina. It's such an ungainly looking beast. |

About archived comments: I think that the ratio is still not exactly right. But I come a little late... And about the pics not updating when re-uploaded to the site, just press F5 or click "Refresh page" to force the browser to download the new picture. |

It does - have posted the youtube link to the main theme above. The CD is unobtainable now without paying huge amounts, so explore other routes .... |

1st comment above for opening demolition derby sequence, CougarTim wrote "I think we've seen some of this footage before in other movies" - see main page comment pictures from ep1.21 of Rockford Files - looks like same track, but another event/meeting as car numbers don't obviously match. |

Then it's about time it got a nice HD upgrade in proper aspect ratio with correct time stamps. I saw this movie too long ago to remember anything except that Peter Boyle was hilarious. bonus tiny convertible: -> bonus shiny sedan: -> bonus demolition derby victim: |

This I think was my first full attempt at posting a film back in the day when the world was younger, and there were lots of hiccups .... Disappointed that all the obituaries I've read of Donald, none mentioned this film, so proper upgrade is a fitting tribute. The green baby convertible is Fiat 850 Sport Spider. |
