Filmed in my birth town ![]() But I'm not familiar with all locations, as many scenes were filmed in the rougher north of Essen, where my family never had a reason to go there. |

By the plates I understand it is Essen. I though you were Berliner (Wirklich Berliner, nich wie J.F.K.) Essen, along with Hannover and Wiesbaden, is one of the few mid-size German City I have never seen. Is it worth visiting ? The most baeutiful in my opinion are Lübeck, Heidelberg, Regensburg, Bamberg and Köln, but there are several other nice ones. Sorry to say, but I was very disappointed by Karlsruhe. -- Last edit: 2017-12-26 20:58:24 |

No, Purzel89 is from Berlin, not me. I like this fascinating town and I'm happy, that I've experienced it before the 9.11.1989, back then, when it was even more fascinating, but I don't have any family-roots there. Yes, I was born in Essen, grew up in and nearby Hannover and since nearly 25 years I live in the Ruhr Area again. Essen is worth tot visit, but not as exclusive destination, better in combination with other places in the Ruhr Area. Ancient historic buildings you won't find there, as Essen was, as other towns in the Ruhr bombed for 90% in WWII (funny detail: the house of my family was nearly the only one in the town center, which wasn't totally destroyed). No idea about Karlsruhe. I haven't been there. |

No. The VW-Porsche and the VW 412 are missing and the GSR deserves, although not completely visible, an own page due its rarity. -- Last edit: 2017-12-27 00:24:42 |
