^First thumbnail: The SS Doric was an ocean liner/cruise ship originally built in France in 1964 as the SS Shalom for ZIM Lines of Israel. Over a 30-year career she served various companies under various names; she bore the name SS Doric from 1973-1981 when she was owned by Home Lines. She exited active service in 1995 when her then-owners went bankrupt. While being towed to India to be scrapped in July, 2001, she sank off the coast of South Africa. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/SS_Shalom http://www.shipspotting.com/gallery/photo.php?lid=579335 Link to "www.shipspotting.com" |
