humungus ◊ 2023-09-30 13:54	“Flushin' cows out of this timber is like trying to teach an elephant to use a typewriter.” For my money, movies never looked better and never will look better than they did in the 1970s, and this is one of the most beautifully photographed movies I've ever seen. I was so entranced by the look of it I didn't even notice the plot was slow as molasses. For all I cared, the movie could've gone on for another hour. That said, I did notice Richard Farnsworth delivered a mesmerizing performance that made his co-stars look like rank amateurs - no mean feat for when they are James Caan, Jane Fonda and Jason Robards. Incidentally, no relation to The Electric Horseman, released a year later and also starring Jane Fonda. You need a microscrope for these backgroundmobiles: -> ->
