The sympathy with the motor vehicles shown by this cartoon animator is far superior to some of the rubbish that purports to be cars in the TV-based films. -- Last edit: 2012-08-16 22:05:20 |

A beautifully drawn film with some fantastic imagery. Several cars - particularly the Ford Anglias and Populars, taxis, and Edinburgh buses - appear several times in different colour schemes through the film. Several cars have weird registration combinations, but some can be recognised as contributor names in the end credits. ingo will appreciate the Edinburgh chip shop menu from /vehicle_524116-Thames-ET6.html![]() On the left: Egg battered Special egg (in batter) Salad (not available) Salad & egg (not available) Deep fried chocolate bar Full Scottish breakfast (battered) On the right: Lobster thermidor crevette with a mornay sauce served in a provencale manner with shallots and aubergines, garnished with truffle pate and brandy, served with a fried egg on top and haggis. Nice to an animated film where they took some care with drawing the cars ![]() |

Looks as if they took a certain number of 50s/60s cars and processed them into a magic machine to produce several clones which were then spread through the film - some interesting choices such as the A70 Countryman. Some odd details keep recurring eg the FX4 tail-lights, strange rear trim on A30s, the double-decker grille on A40 Countryman, big girder bumpers on Anglia E494A. Once all these cars were scattered in the images they stopped, so there are no Rootes, Vauxhalls, bigger Fords, Minis, Rovers etc. Some thumbs added. -- Last edit: 2013-03-08 07:20:14 |

I would guess that they animated the cars with computer models, which would make it easier to re-use designs in different scenes than draw different cars for each shot. -- Last edit: 2013-01-14 14:09:17 |

@G-Mann: Agreed. Really enjoyable this eleborateness with love for datails. For dimensions better than the usual animated shit, which is cluttered in here. -- Last edit: 2013-01-14 15:03:31 |
