![]() ![]() "The star was an alcoholic, the writer was an alcoholic, the producer was an alcoholic and the director was an alcoholic". Totally bonkers, surreal, slightly Dada-ist, fairly incoherent mess of a film, which is also totally not politically correct. Or if you can pick up on its wavelength, it's a masterpiece with moments of pure comedy genius, like Monty Python on steroids. The great Viv Stanshall wrote it originally as a radio series for John Peel's show on Radio 1, it became an excellent LP, and then turned into a film made on a tiny budget. Example of its humour - Sir Henry's aged manservant is called "Old Scrotum, the wrinkled retainer". Only 5 entries. -- Last edit: 2025-02-23 02:23:34 |
