 This film is an insult to the alfa spider! If it did that jump in to the grass it would be destroyed! Yet the police chaser gets killed. Chevy chase is good in it mind.

 In the very beginning, when Fletch is walking to the shed on the beach, you can spot a Fifth-Gen Chevrolet El Camino with a camper in the background.

 To be honest Chase plays the main role in this movie (ha ha HA!). OK (very good) jokes aside... The Alfa Spider is chased by the police vehicles and some cars are crashed:
