if you want a proper military themed movie with Tommy Lee Jones from that period you should try Under Siege, starred Steven Seagal but TLJ and Gary Busey totally steal the show as the villains , one of the most enjoyable Die Hard knockoffs

 not sure , it was called Fire Birds here , looked like a Top Gun videogame with an helicopter that shoots about everywhere but where you need it to fire..

looks like it was called FireHawks actually.. i did not played in over 30 years , i guess memory is about like the helicopter's shooting skills
