Looks like the John Edgar Ferari 857S - "Chassis 0588 - This 857 Sport Spider Scaglietti was originally completed in 1955 as the last of four 857S cars.... and entered into its first race, at the 50th Annual RAC trophy held at Dundrod, Ireland, in September 1955. ..... however it was crashed in early practice by Oliver Gendebein, rolling several times.... 0588 was sent back to Carrozzeria Scaglietti in Modena for repairs.... Following the completion of repairs in 1956, 0588 was sold to John Edgar as a brand new car and was campaigned extensively to great success by Jack McAfee and Carroll Shelby." from here. |

^Agreed. Same car: /v448745.html /v1836913.html /v106188.html Red 857 Sport [0588M] raced also in Palm Springs with #98 but earlier in February of '56 -Jack McAfee placed 2nd. Of course cars are different, most noticably 410 has hood with 1 intake/hump while 857 has 2 closed humps. -- Last edit: 2023-10-29 23:23:46 |
