ANM903B - 'NM' is registration for Luton but the registration not found on DVLA so may be false. 1964 as year of registration therefore not certain. 1964 would be late Mk.2 or early Mk.3, only a front view would verify which.

Hello, i don't know when your pictures were taken but i think the ambulance parked behind ANM903B is mine. It was registered 374 CBM and is now 270UXG . It was on hire for 6 months this year and appears a few times in the next series.

If you look just above the photo, you'll see "Ep. 1.07", meaning the seventh episode from the first season, which was in 2003.

At the time of the vehicle's manufacture, NM was the prefix for Bedfordshire, the NM became the prefix for Luton in 1974.

Suffix marks did not commence in Bedfordshire (Luton LVLO) until 1st January 1965, so there were no B registrations as the suffix letter had changed to C for the 1965 calendar year. The reversed series ended 31/12/1964 at 1 RNM, the Bedfordshire identifiers then transferring to Luton LVLO.

"A 1970 Bedford CA/Herbert Lomas "B" type registration ANM903H which was used by ICI in Luton. Better know as the older registration given to it to denote a 1964 model used when it was regularly seen in a (incorrect) North Riding of Yorkshire county council ambulance service livery in the ITV TV series "Heartbeat".
