I believe this is a US-spec International by the headlights. Most of the Dina trucks have double lights like the closest truck on the left. |

Well, it could be a US truck misidentified as a Mexican one ![]() And in fact, that linked truck is partly misidentified. The Dina 800 / 861 (there was maybe other model numbers?) had different headlamps: apparently, round, round in a square bezel, square or dual rectangular headlamps are possible, depending on the model year: https://flic.kr/p/eDyTtD https://flic.kr/p/FBKnGA _____ It should be checked, but I wonder if Cabina S-Serie trucks with the dual headlamps are not all 861 models... -- Last edit: 2020-03-10 04:55:47 |

My bad... How didn't I notice that the truck in the main screenshot didn't have the 2-part windshield and the high hood of a 800??? This said, Afonso's 1st thumbnail shows a 800. The more I search about Dina's S-Series equivalent, the more it appears that the Serie S is the only one, but it obviously has a different front face. Trucks with that front face were in fact made by the Fábrica de Autotransporte Mexicana, a.k.a FAMSA (es): ![]() At least some of these trucks used a Mercedes-Benz engine. The availability of an SF-2500 model (SF for tandem rear axle) is sure, but didn't other models exist? There's one depicted as S-1900 and another one as SF-2575 in Flickr. Shouldn't we then call this truck line Serie S (S-Series, in Spanish)? With its tandem rear axle, this would mean Serie SF for the one in main picture. -- Last edit: 2020-03-10 05:50:47 |
