Aside from an armored Land-Rover in Northern Ireland, you're on your own. -- Last edit: 2010-05-01 03:45:03 |

My guess is that this is a Snatch Land-Rover, otherwise known as the CAV-100 built by NP Aerospace: http://www.army-guide.com/eng/product1147.html |

This is defitely an armoured Land Rover. Most likely a Northern Ireland spec 110 as the Cranberries are Irish. However, it is not one of the standard Tangi's used in Northern Ireland and I suspect it is actually a custom built vehicle for special tasks since the armour is much heavier than anything I've seen before. the Tangi and Snatch are armoured behind the original body panels whereas this one has the armour outside. It looks like an earlier model (built between 1983 & 1989 - no side intake on the wing and 6.5" standard wheel rims) with the 3.5 litre V8 petrol engine (large bore tailpipe). It is also entirely possible this was built specifically for the video using a standard civilian 110 truck and the armour plating is just for show! |
