I think its the same vehicle. I haven't seen any other Morris vans with that large lip above the windscreen which looks a little clumsy. Plus the curved passenger body seems to still be there, but clothed in a bigger 'box'that encloses it. It looks like two different bodies; you can almost see the join so I suspect the van bit can be lifted off quite easily. Are there any shots from the rear with the doors open, as I bet the car is still complete inside it? Early bullnose 'Commercial Traveller's Cars' retained the curved car body but with a van back end added on, but with those cars the van body was inboard between the wings and lower so the driver could see over when reversing. Later vans (circa 1928 onward) had a full height wide van body such as this fitted over the rear wings but they had a flatter radiator. -- Last edit: 2012-09-16 17:06:21 |

It must be the same - compare these two pics and look at the equipment on the running board by the spare wheel - there is an upright 'thing' with a handle ahead of the wheel on both machines - you can see the handle on the van shot. Plus the van doors look quite 'temporary'; not a good fit like the real thing. Top pic is the car on the Kings Speech set.![]() ![]() And the final piece of the jigsaw - in the van shot you can see the windscreen doesn't actually join the roof; there's a gap where the temporary van body isn't fixed. -- Last edit: 2012-09-17 00:26:45 |
