This is (should be) a GUY BIG J 4 T http://www.historywebsite.co.uk/Museum/Transport/commercial/Guy/guyhistory7.htm made after the BMC take over and transfer to the British Leyland Motor Corporation Limited. The lower badge is a British Leyland badge Link to "fi.wikipedia.org" . |

Upper badge is Cummins a very popular engine choice for the J4. Lorry belongs to A & W Logan of Kilburnie and is being inspected by the dreaded Ministry man. -- Last edit: 2017-02-16 08:22:36 |

Sorry to correct you but A 'J' plate would be 1971 to 72, I got my first brand new company car in 1978 which was an 'S' plate, AWT220S Ford Cortina Estate 1600LS wearing Azure Blue. Prior to that I had NHD600L which was another Cortina Estate and was a '73' registration. You are quite correct regarding the Cummins 220 badging though. |

^ J 01 August 1970 to 31 July 1971 K 01 August 1971 to 31 July 1972 L 01 August 1972 to 31 July 1973 .... so this can stay as late 1970 while your Cortina NHD 600L fits with a 73. |
