Actually - Prior to 1992, the B-series chassis was available to any school bus manufacturer. That year, GM and Blue Bird signed a supply and marketing agreement, with the latter company becoming the exclusive supplier of the then-new GMT530 bus chassis for the next 10 years. The resulting model was named the CV200 - Blue Bird

So, that is the 'Blue Bird' script at the bonnet as shown at the first thumbnail provided by night cub :think:

@ supcoach:
As said so many times, copy-pasting a Wikipedia page known to be full of errors without saying it won't make this info more accurate, nor your proposal more trustworthy...

@elmer - in this case absolutely true. Here is another source saying the same thing

The B-Series chassis was used by a variety of manufacturers and was popular for the availability of both gasoline and diesel engines. Until 1991, the B-Series was available to all manufacturers. However, in a move that crippled GM's marketshare of the schoolbus market, GM signed an agreement with Blue Bird Corporation for 1992. Under the terms of the agreement (which lasted 10 years), Blue Bird became the only body manufacturer allowed to build buses on the new B-Series chassis and would also be responsible for all distribution and service. The resulting model was named the CV200, and while the GM B-7 chassis was standard, Navistar International and Ford (and later, Freightliner) chassis were available as options.

All these people can't be wrong as well -
tons of CV200 brochures that have 1992 as the copyright date, and they indicate 1992 as the starting model year for that bus.

The Blue Bird CV200 (updated GM cowl) began production in the year of 1992.

The older GM cowl quit production in 1991, however, there were some 1992 models, from non-Blue Bird manufacturers, including AmTran (Ward), Carpenter, Thomas, Wayne, etc. And YES the Detroit 8.2L was an available engine, along with the GM gasoline line.

Now, just an interesting tidbit. Before GM officials signed with Blue Bird to provide an exclusive chassis agreement, GM consulted with Thomas, and Wayne.

• what you copy-paste without giving the source is coming from an unsourced trucks.wikia page, mostly based on the corresponding Wikipedia page and with exactly the same errors (I'm sorry, the B-Series name never existed for GM buses before 1979, and the 1966 GMC S-Series was still based on the 1960-66 medium-duty "C-Series", not on the 1966-69 E-Series). This may explain why this is "another source saying the same thing" :D ;
• your first link: just a picture without any reference, I don't understand what it's supposed to prove;
• "tons of brochures": where? Once again you copy-pasted this from the forum you link twice at the end of your comment, but didn't even realize that the buses.zwebpages.com link given in the same answer did no longer work...
• your last double link: I don't see any source in it, just a fan forum with people asking questions and other giving answers without external links.

I don't say this bus can't be a CV 200. I really don't know, in fact. I'm just saying that, as often (as usual?), your "clues" can't be taken as serious ones...
Please search real, sourced and trustworthy clues. In a word, serious info.
