Assuming Aus-build features repeated UK sequences, these all seem early cars (although the ep.486 wreck would presumably prevent the same red car continuing without a substitute). No reversing lights (UK date - April 67) and wider gap between sidelights and grille (moved closer for 1969). |

The wreck in ep. 486 was a ring-in (just a wreck propped up against a tree, standing in for the actual car used in the driving sequence), JLL-958 stayed in use for some time after that. Happily, there's a database of Aus-build MGBs (sorted by body number) which lists the original registration number and registration date for most of the Victorian ones (VERY handy for dating local MGBs, and also pretty useful for narrowing registration plate prefixes down to a specific period): JNG-999 was first registered on 19/7/66, JLL-958 on April 1st 1966. |
