While it's normal to need to suspend your sense of disbelief when watching this series of movies, I have to admit that seeing literally one of the first cars on screen being inaccurate was a bit disappointing (the Cuban revolution was in 1959, so all American imports stopped in that year meaning a '61 Impala couldn't have been there). |

Hypothetically, it could have come from Canada (theres a market for used CDN vehicles in Cuba, even through it seems nobody has the parts or know how to take care of them since most of them go to scrap after a short time. Quebec dumped quite a few of its old fishbowls in the late 1990s and early 2000s on Cuba.) -- Last edit: 2017-04-17 04:34:19 |

I think Dom imported this from America to Cuba for his honeymoon I don't think its originally supposed to be from Cuba unlike the other older cars |

This is a misconception. Although the revolution was in 1959, the embargo didn't go into full effect until 1962. It's not unusual to see 1960-1962 American cars in Cuba. It's not unheard of, either, for post-1962 American cars to find their way there, usually by way of South America. -- Last edit: 2018-04-10 03:51:51 |

A 1960 Ford was the newest American car I saw on my trip there in 2012. |
