Strange choice for 1989 setting. |

When I was doing the short-lived series Vinyl last year, I found it strange that sometimes you'd see 1950s cars in the background in pristine condition despite the scenes being set in 1973. |

It is indeed common that cars in recent movies set in the past are often too shiny and clean. Maybe some filters would help ![]() In this case I'd expect something more in the late "80s style" (even if it means something much worse than the style of the late 60s/early 70s Italian sports cars). -- Last edit: 2017-08-19 22:57:02 |

Yes, this car does seem out of place. Why would a spy drive a 15-20 year old, super rare sports car? Wheels don't appear to be stock. They look like certain 1980s Pontiac rims. Movies get a lot of their period vehicles from local car clubs. Here in Atlanta, movie companies frequently contact our Cadillac Club and ask for specific years and models. Of course most of them are fully restored and in like new condition. If looks funny on film if the car is supposed to be 5 to 10 years old. Sometimes they spray fake road grime on them but you rarely see dented or slightly damaged vehicles used. |
