Actually it is a 1975 Plymouth Fury and please change it. |

Nice paint job. I also like the hood scoop there. How many Plymouth Furies & whatnot were made with the hood scoop? |

I don't thin that's a hood scoop. I believe that's a hood-mounted tachometer. |

Were the 1975-78 Dodge Coronet/Monaco & Plymouth Fury even made with hood-mounted tachs? In my opinion, I like conventional tachometers better because it keeps all the gauges in one place. However, the hood-mounted version could also allow for more gauge space on the dashboard. |

Well, I don't think they had room to put the tach on the cluster. If I recall correctly, the cluster is just a large speedometer with a few idiot lights and minor guages (IE- gas and temp). |

I think they might be shaker hoods, tacs are ussuly mounted directly in front of the driver these apear to be in the center, but dont quote me on that im not sure. |

THAT IS A HOOD SCOOP ON THE PLYMOUTH , I HAD A 1977 PLYMOUTH FURY EX-POLICE CAR WITH THE SAME HOOD SCOOP. SEVERAL COUNTIES IN GEORGIA HAD SOME OF THESE WITH THE SCOOPS. I CAN KICK MYSELF NOW FOR SELLING THE CAR BACK IN THE 1980's. |

*sigh* I don't believe this. Funny I don't remember that turn..." This is what that Arkansas State Trooper said when getting out of his disabled cruiser. |

That cruiser WAS a Pontiac Lemans to begin with. When that smokey was "takin' a leak" it was the 2nd time this particular vehicle appeared. |

They are hood scoops not tachs. There is a brief shot through the windshield that shows the opening. I wondered if they were functional |

The hood scoop marks this as a former DeKalb County, Georgia police unit. The hood scoop (a Cal Custom piece) was installed as a modification by the department on their cruisers, presumably to help with performance. |
