http://www.gwm.com.cn/eng/html/product/wingle_intro.asp Wow, Great Wall has terrible car names!. A car called the "Wingle". WTF? |

Great Wall's pickups are based on old Toyota models. The windscreen wipers on this car suggest that it's right hand drive, in which case it would be a genuine Toyota Hilux imported secondhand from Japan or Hong Kong. |

I thought it looked like a Toyota. |

Great Wall Deer CC1020-CC1021 or indeed a genuine Hilux |

looking at the grille and badge I would also have to agree on Great Wall Deer![]() |

Could the picture have been flipped? A Great Wall Deer in China is extremely unlikely to be right hand drive. |

most of the Chinese cars look like something else non-Chinese ![]() |

Could be, look at the traffic sign on the left. Maybe that's a clue? |

Looks more like it's left-hand drive to me. |

Now, I’m not one to criticize other people’s grammar or intentions when writing something, but has anyone taken the time to actually sit down and read Great Wall’s website? Some of the stuff they write just sounds weird. All the quotes are quoted directly from the website: My Expedition has a power moon roof – but it doesn’t make me feel successful. It makes me feel paranoid that I’ve left it open when it rains ... Call me crazy but, didn’t they just state the same thing twice in one sentence? Anti-dizzy function? ... I guess that they mean Anti-glare? Oh and Munual is spelled Manual, but I digress. |

It's just a bad translation. |

The Chinese are just copy caters. Engineers there must not have a good imagination. ![]() This was based on a toyota. -- Last edit: 2008-01-24 01:12:04 |

Then they should tweak their website’s translator a little ... ![]() |
