If it's a BLUE BIRD MICRO BIRD, how come it has the GMC emblem on it? -- Last edit: 2008-02-08 23:49:25 |

Because it's a Blue Bird Microbus on a GMC van chassis. |

First of all, if it was a Blue Bird it would have said it on the grill. (My school bus is a Blue Bird All-American.) Second of all, Does GMC make Blue Birds? and finally, Is it custom? Still, I get your point. -- Last edit: 2008-02-09 01:12:43 |

GMC sells chassis-cab units, which was used by Blue Bird for these small buses, I guess (so only the rear part, for passengers, was made by Blue Bird) |

I knew it was some kind of combination of vehicles. -- Last edit: 2008-02-10 01:55:19 |

Blue bird is a coach builder. I believe they produce whole buses on their own now, but if that's true then it's a fairly recent thing. They used to just make the bodies, which would in turn be grafted to whatever type of chassis...Ford, Chevrolet, GMC, or International, generally. |

Ok let me clear this up. GMC make the chassis (The front part that has the driver) and BlueBird make the body (The passenger compartment) This bus must be from 1991 or older because of the style of the passenger side windows on the chassis. From 1992 on it was just a single window but in 1991 and before there were 2 windows. BlueBird does build their own chassis now a days except for their type A buses. -- Last edit: 2011-05-23 22:21:03 |

Yes they were: http://images.walkthelot.com/1095/1551/1551-1GDHG31K2TF505258-1.jpg Actually that is probably what this bus is. |

The side door is different than in the movie. Maybe, in the movie, the character made some modifications ? |

Has DRLs. Was this a Canadian 1990-1991 used? |

The barn burner bus is located at a car museum, I believe AdamTheWoo recently did a video at the museum and the bus was there but wasn't featured too heavily, just a few comments in passing. |
