Please ignore the alloys - I've stated this a million times... This is a 1980-85 model, you can tell immediately by the front bumper. |

About the steel wheels on the Golf - they are not 100 % trustworthy when it comes to years, as seen on this example - but it's better to have something to go by than not having anything at all. However, certain people on this site blindly follow the most obvious alloy clue when dating these W126s, while ignoring the safe alternatives - that are really obvious once you're aware of them. |
