WTTW recently showed an old Gene Kelly flick called "Les Girls" in which
Gene drove an AC Ace roadster. I didn't see what year the film was made, but
judging by the Paris fashions it must have been about 1954-55. By the engine
sound I would say it was definitely not a Cobra, probably an AC or a Bristol
engined car. Thought Roland and perhaps a few others would be interested.

1957 film date is too early for Cobra, so has to be Ace. Photo shows LHD, imdb says filmed in London and Paris, and we have a LHD Ace in a 1960 Paris film - /vehicle_90343-AC-Ace-1957.html - which has been labelled as a 1957 car (although not explained).

The fuel filler cap is on the side so it is certainly an AC Ace. The only Cobra with the filler cap on the side was the Shelby prototype CSX2000 with the later cars all with a central filler cap.

amp wrote The rear lights indicate a later car as the very first Aces had a single round rear light.

... so maybe 1956+ Ace Bristol, but unconfirmed.
