Definitely has an International Harvester look to the cab, Filmed in Australia, Im not familiar with the IH models there. |

This cab was used by both IH and Dodge in Aust. I think this is an AB1500 but I will check. The Dodge version used the 225 slant six. The IH had an IH six although by now it could have been repowered.. |

That is a Dodge [D5N] would appear to be a 300 by the dual rear wheels. From the very early 1960's Australian Dodge trucks departed from the US models. They used a cabin shared with International pickups and with different grills, trims etc. The 1960's Dodges used the 225 ci slant six engine. From the very early 1970's when Chrysler Aust developed there own six cylinder engine, the famous Hemi six, the Dodge trucks were fitted with the Hemi instead of the slant six. LA series V8s were also offered in 318 ci capacity towards the end. |

The vehicle shown is an AT4 Dodge Truck. These trucks were built at Tonsley Park in South Australia from 1962 to 1972. The designation AT4 stands for Australian Truck 4 Series. They were available with 225 Cu.In. Slant Six, 245 Cu.In. Hemi 6, 354 Cu.In. 6 Cyl. Perkins Diesel , 464 Cu.In. 6 Cyl. Cummins Diesel , 470 Cu.In. V8 Cummins Diesel , 313 Cu.In. and 318 Cu.In. A series V8 (Poly), 318 Cu.In. LA Series V8 and 361 Cu.In. B Series V8 (Big Block). The D5N (Dodge Truck 5 Series Normal Control) commenced production after AT4 ceased. The body of the D5N can be externally identified by a single Wide ( approx 2") stainless steel front fender moulding. Single seven Inch headlamps with combination Park/Turn Lamps fitted outside the headlamps. -- Last edit: 2007-06-15 20:52:35 |
