Gray car behind Ford Truck is a 1986-1989 Honda Accord and the Land Rover to the right is a 1999-2004 Discovery Series II (but in this film, it is either a 1999 or 2000 model since the movie was made in 2000). |

Not a 2000! This does not have a driver’s a pillar handle! Alll 2000 PN96 received a driver’s a-pillar handle. The mirror caps are a replacement or the change was mid model year. Feel free to peruse VINs: http://gtcarlot.com/colors/Ford/F150/2000/ -2000 1999: http://gtcarlot.com/colors/Ford/F150/1999/ -- Last edit: 2022-04-03 03:34:52 |

Link to "oldcarbrochures.org" looks like Ford thought the driver would need to keep both hands on the Lightning's steering wheel... ![]() -- Last edit: 2022-04-03 03:34:02 |

another of those mid-year change ? because brochure has the 2000 only tail lights... |

Every 2000 Lightning I looked has A-pillar handles as do all 2000 PN96s. Either the brochure was printed using 1999 models (which we have seen Ford use previous images) or the mirror caps were painted mid-model year. |

Unless this was a 1999 with 2000+ mirror caps added. Maybe even a pre-production model? Two more 2000s with grab handles. https://bringatrailer.com/listing/2000-ford-f-150/ https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=SfYVf0GY3KE |

could be... some mismatch pre-production based on a 99 with 2000 mirror/tail lights seems a good way to explain it... ![]() why manufacturers do love complicating things like this.... i think i missed the boat somewhere.. i thought we were speaking about the brochure one.. i saw that movie long long time ago and i don't remember if they even show the tail lights.. -- Last edit: 2022-04-03 05:18:45 |
