A very late Hunter, it will have been built in Ireland. Looks more like the last model Humber Sceptre. A dated looking car for 1978-79 compared to the likes of the Golf. The last Hunter's were built in 1979. |

I never know Chrysler Europe had anything in Ireland. The design dated back to the 1966 Hillman Minx. |

The hillman hunter and singer vogue were the first of these new series of 'ARROW' cars introduced in 1966. The hillman minx version didnt appear untill 1967 (when the minx series v was discontinued )and was basically a less well equiped hunter with a 1500cc engine. Also using this body shell were the singer gazelle, humber sceptre , and the hillman GT, later called hunter GT, really a minx with a rapier engine. In some european markets the hunter, vogue and sceptre were sold under the sunbeam name. The car was also built in Iran and sold as peykan which means arrow. This chrysler badged version is one of the last registered in the uk and is indeed irish assembled. |
