Have you guys noticed the \\\"Convoy\\\" chrome rubber duck on the bonnet of this car? Very cool detail. Stuntman Mike\\\'s \\\'69 Dodge Charger has the duck as well. |

Remember Bullitt's Ford Mustang plate? JJZ-109 Same as the Chevy Nova in this movie; another reference to Bullitt ![]() -- Last edit: 2007-09-10 00:38:53 |

That Nova isn't an SS. It has neither the SS badges or trim. Heck, there's not even a displacement badge like 307 or 350. So it's just a regular Nova. It's also a 1971-72, not a 1970. The 1970's had clear turn signal lenses. The 1968-69's (which were similar) had different sized/shaped turn signal lenses altogether. -- Last edit: 2007-09-20 01:39:12 |

4 stars IMHO |

Knoxzilla, sadly the problem with that is turn signal lenses can be easily replaced. |

While that's certainly possible (or indeed, it could be a '68 or '69 with a '71 or '72 bumper), we have to go where the evidence is. Since 1968-1972 all looked nearly identical except for the bumper and front signal lights, and this was has '71-'72 signal lights, the strongest evidence is that the car is a '71 or '72. It would just be silly to say "Well, it has '71-'72 signal lights, so it must be a '70!" |

It's very possible to customize any Nova in that age range with each others' signal lights and bumpers. Also, it could, indeed, be an SS or any other kind of Nova, with the all trim removed to make it look evil, or to preserve said trim, because the filmmakers knew what was eventually going to happen to the car. |

So he drives over the Civic, somehow makes it blow up, and he's in the hotspital afterward? Thats plastic versus ALOT of steel, he shouldn't have been hurt that bad. |

This Nova is a beauty!! That skull on the hood is badass. Kinda sucks how it doesn't have a trim, would be awesome if it were SS |

3 stars for a movie car that's on the cover of the movie poster? There are even several pieces of dialogue devoted to talking about how the Nova is Death Proof. The Nova is literally the face of the movie, and integral to telling the story. At least 5 stars |

5 Stars is the maximum, but you are correct, 5 Stars is a MUST, it's on the film poster, it's the "crime weapon", without it there is no film at all! I actually forgot why Kurt Russell's character even did it, when I saw it I think I guessed/speculated that he was a misogynist serial killer, but that is not revealed in the movie?! -- Last edit: 2021-06-03 00:00:46 |
