There was sporadic ZA Traveller CKD assembly - 1955 two prototype Series II as a test, then 1957 twelve Minor 1000 Travellers, before a proper run 1959-62 of 690 Travellers, all 948cc, and built to standard rather than UK Deluxe spec. Unclear if there was also imports of fully-built UK Travellers, but seems likely; Minor saloon imports started very early in 1948, and seems likely there was saloon assembly, particularly after 1955 when the Blackheath plant opened for truck and bus builds, but no definite info found. |
