 1977 for the fact that this a late pre-facelifting Passat I in L/LS trim (gun at the bumpers and chrome around the grille) with round headlights instead of rectangular ones, Curiously the facelifted version in such trim (along with the standard one) shifted to rectangular units.
Even the colour (Manilagrün) is 1977+.
