From what I can tell, this is a FJ-6 postal van. We only have them listed under "AM General", but the model started in 1965, 5 years before AM General was formed. Willys Jeep, then?:![]() |

wouldn't it be Kaiser-Jeep ? |

So far, all civilian vehicles from the Kaiser-Jeep era are entered as Jeep. The Kaiser-Jeeps in the db are all military vehicles. There's a small Jeep logo stamped under the grille, also. Edit : maybe not stamped. Perhaps a badge painted over. -- Last edit: 2018-02-14 02:51:48 |

Fleetvan rather than "postal van", also ? |

That's why I included the thumbnail. The civilian were mainly listed as Willys Jeeps. If you look at the history on Wikipedia of American General, it formed from the Defense and Government Products Division of Kaiser Jeep. I would think the postal trucks would fall under that description with the Military vehicles. Another source I found, said that the FJ-6 was made from 1965-1974, replaced by the FJ-8/9 in 1975. http://www.jeepfan.com/readersjeeps/kaiser-jeep-fj-6-fleetvan-4x2/ |
