The Car is only driven by a main character, the movie is not about the car, therefore its 4 stars |

You don't see too many two-tone Trans AMs |
◊ 2008-08-21 04:58 |
actually most if not all of the black 1982-1983 T/A's had gold cladding on the bottom like that, in 1984 they added an actual ground effects kit and again most of the black ones had gold but i think gray was optional was well as all black (on the recaro) |

yeah dude most of the 1982-83 T/A's had that gold trim at the bottom. |
◊ 2009-06-23 21:09 |
they made a lot of 82-84 t/a with the blk gold trim and not all 84s had the groundeffects only so many rest had the same style as the 82-83.recaros in 82-84 were same as stock blk and gld t/as except the recaro seats |

I have heard somewhere that they said that this vehicle is horribly underpower for rubber burning. I also heard that they add NOx to boost the engine power for this filming production. Comments? |

Horribly underpowered? well of course you could expect more from a car like this but now if you mean with the Nos? that was in Knight Rider I think... they worked on some cars engine and had an 83 Firebird Trans Am Stunt car who could do those nice burnouts and speed ups... anyway this Bandit car is an 82 Firebird Trans Am without power windows and with standard Firebird seats and probably with the LG4 engine (maybe tuned) and it's not an 83 model at all. |

this wasn't as good as the first two movies because Burt Reynold and sally field weren't in it |

Not sure why Burt and Sally where not in it will post when i find out |

The first movie was the best. But this Trans Am is slightly better than the one in 1 and 2. |

The only Pontiac of the movie that survived. |

The car doing the doughnut without the bowling ball hubcaps was a 1983. I owned it back in the late 90s. |

Are you kidding? The '77 Firebird was the best of the Firebirds that appeared in these movies. |

The Bandit II T/A was my favorite. |

THis move was the poorest of all three "Bandit" parts. The same storry with not that good actors. I switched it of after only 20 Minutes. The best in the movie was this Trans Am. The rest - no thank you. |

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=XnkskAezHrw Interesting video by "Knight Rider Historians" concerning the Trans Ams used in this movie (and whether or not some of them ended up being used in Knight Rider). -- Last edit: 2023-01-30 20:56:56 |

In the video it was said there is a small chance '83s were used. But based on filming schedule most likely only '82s. No chance of '84s. Also video says cars in this movie are very low optioned Trans Ams. As opposed to he high optioned Trans Ams seen in Knight Rider. |

So the car had the 305 LG4 engine. Weren’t they only putting out about 150hp on a good day? |

Yep. |
