Well you're wrong, it is a D-reg (1986-87) a 1990 car would be either a G or H-reg. And this film came out in 1988, who changed this to a 1990 car? Ford Sierras can't travel back in time. Sorry I changed that a little too quickly  Note that licence plates are not always correct, we had some cases of wrong plates put on a car just for the movie.
