Rolls-Royce 40/50hp Silver Ghost, 1907, #60551, Barker Roi des Belges :
This is the actual car on which record-run RR reputation is founded!
see: http://www.rrab.com/rsg_gb.htm
and: http://www.bentleyboys.com/rolls-royce_history.htm
This might be the first film-car in IMCDb with a real history!

This is probably the most famous, most valuable car in the world. It's been owned and maintained by Rolls Royce it's entire life, and still bears it's original "AX 201" license plates. Just google the plate number and see what you get. See also http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Rolls-Royce_Silver_Ghost for more information.

This car has not been owned by Rolls Royce for it entire life. It was bought by the Hanbury family in 1907 and Rolls Royce bought it back in 1948.

"AX 201" is also the same License plate on the "Matchbox" 1907 Rolls Royce Silver Ghost.

When Volkswagen bought the Crewe factory and the Bentley name, they ended up with this car and the 10 hp car. They keep in in fine order, but as BMW owns the Rolls Royce brand, Volkswagen do not really seem to know what do with it...
