What a great car! - Was it officially sold in UK? |

Yeah, a friend had a GSE with leather Recaros, a nice place to be. Monza's probably outsold the Vauxhall Royale coupe which despite being almost identical was seen as a bit naff. -- Last edit: 2018-03-15 15:09:41 |

Yes. Oct 78 to Jan 87 with 3.0 engine in the same sequence of versions - plain, E and GSE as elsewhere. There was also a lower spec version here badged as the Vauxhall Royale coupe with 2.8 from Oct 78, added 3.0 alternative in Oct 80 but stopped in Feb 82 because no-one bought them. |

That's confirmed by the numbers. https://www.howmanyleft.co.uk/?utf8=%E2%9C%93&q=opel+monza https://www.howmanyleft.co.uk/?utf8=%E2%9C%93&q=vauxhall+royale Monza more than triple. |

Those numbers are skewed as the Royale was both saloon and coupe versions, with Monza being coupe only alongside Senator saloon. I've got a book figure that total Royale production of both bodies was only 7119. Senator production in this generation was 118,500, Monza 43,500, but nothing found for UK sales figures. |
