 It looks like my 1997 Accord, exept for the fact that mine is dark blue. If this is the one made for the English and european market, does the american or japanese version look any different?

Absolutely, European Accord of these generation were the japanese Ascot Innova which was released in March 1992. Japanese and American version were the same, we get in Europe in Station Wagon form, the Aerodeck and coupé

US market
Sedan for the US / Japan / Australia / Canada only > Type CD3-CD6 and CE6;
Wagon / Aerodeck for the US / Japan / Europe > Type CE1,CE2,CF2
Coupe for the US / Japan / Europe / Canada > Type CD7-CD9
European Market
4 door sedan with the huge back hood; Type CC7 1993-1996, CE7-CE9 1996-1998, CF1 the Diesel
It based on the Ascot Innova (1992-1996) for the japanese market > Type CB3,CB4,CC4,CC5
