Karoomay 6.11 shows a real CA plate. '86 according to www.bar.ca.gov. Oops they forgot to put a fake NY plate on it.

Haha, good catch jettalover, I failed to notice that. :p But it looks like it has not been tested since 2001, so maybe now the Accord does not exist anymore.

Can we split the face lifted models out? There are a few 1988-1989 models sprinkled in with these? I can provide the breakdown if needed.

I ran the CarFax, and the car was scrapped in 2002... but not before racking up almost 280,000 miles! Pretty impressive for a 16-year-old car. Interestingly, it already had 249,000 miles by the time the show had ended, even though it was never driven. After that, it was really driven into the ground, touring California cities I've never heard of, even as a lifelong Californian (Lancaster, Rosamond, Arvin, and Santa Fe Springs).

Update: I looked up those cities on Google Maps, and wow, they really are out in the middle of nowhere. I'm talking trailer park desert towns with terrible roads and chain link fences. This car was brought to California in 1992 (that's when the "2Z" series of passenger plates was issued) and went on to star in one of the biggest shows on TV. Then it wound up as far from the spotlight as possible before dying an unceremonious death. I doubt its owner even knew it had been on Seinfeld, only a couple of feet from the main cast. I guess it's true what they've always said: Hollywood chews you up and spits you out.

i'm not surprised .. someone i knew had access to a 1989 one with about 130,000 miles on it back in 1994-1995 and that thing ran like a Swiss watch , if it wasn't for the RPM gauge you wouldn't even knew the engine was running

I own a 1986 Accord LX Sedan identical to this one (except in Montreal Blue Metallic instead of Champagne Beige Metallic), and at 126,000 miles it's starting to show its mechanical age (though it's also 39 years old). It trembles and shivers at idle, and it doesn't have a lot of power (though it never really did). But mostly I'm just impressed that the one on Seinfeld managed to look brand new despite having 249,000 miles.

My cousin is a mechanic and once , i had something to fix on my car . Inside the garage, there was an ultra clean 1998-2000 Corolla . Then, my cousin told me to have a look at the odometer : close to 230,000 miles . My Mazda had less than half the milleage and looked like i bought it from a zombie yard sale aside of it..

At the very least, Baube, your 2001 Mazda ( ) served you well and was with you the whole time though. :)
