This is an interesting document because a colour photography of what may have been the same car was published in the french magazine " Réalités" , " Numéro Spécial sur le Salon de l'Auto" of october 1951. The colour picture shows a light yellow version with dark red leather interior .Unfortunately , it has no number plate , so one cannot check with the french number plate 885 CF 75 of the car appearing in the film. The Chrysler Imperial C-54 Convertible was a rare model since only 650 were built in 1951. Chrysler phased the Convertible out before the end of 1951. In France , this model sold for the staggering price of 2.450.000 french francs of the period ,which was about four times the price of a Simca 9 Aronde priced at 636.000 francs. So it is unlikely that more than one or only a very few examples found their way to France.Does anyone have a clue ?
Like the New Yorkers , the Imperials were powered by the potent new super square 97 mm X 92 mm hemispherical combustion chambers V8 engine ( hemi) of 182 horsepower. As can be seen , the Imperials used skirted fenders ( rear wheel shields)

I just look this movie on TV. I think this is a Belgian car. On the front window, you have the Belgian "taxe vignette" and the front licence plate holder is typical Belgian of the pré 1954 period
