/vehicle_21560-Mack-B-61.html ? It is not for the red truck, as said on that page it is the 2nd truck from the left. |
◊ 2006-03-02 22:19 |
It is seen in a lot of scenes I think |
◊ 2006-03-23 10:11 |
Yes. It trashes the Cadillac, kills a man (Duncan), wrecks a phone booth and eventually gets blown up ![]() |

1966 model most likely. |

http://www.hankstruckpictures.com/pix/trucks/dan_espinosa/autocar_1966-01_de.jpg It seems a little different from this Autocar A64 B Diesel? |
◊ 2006-04-13 12:11 |
No two Autocars are exactly alike. Autocar's speciality is to custom build each truck. |
◊ 2006-04-13 22:53 |
Yes, and since the A64 is a very old truck model, it`s no wonder they used it as a garbage hauler and then blows it up. (All of the trucks that blows up in this movie appares to be older than 1980.) |
◊ 2006-05-16 18:43 |
There is one exactly like that not that far from where I live, exactly the same color and everything except the bumper and grille are painted black. |

It gets blown up by Hendershot with a bazooka. |
◊ 2006-06-08 11:59 |
It is however, strange that he reloads it. The bazooka is an M72 LAW and can only be fired once. ![]() -- Last edit: 2006-06-08 12:45:22 |

The truck and trailer both belong to a garbage company, Zeke's Garbage. I don't know whether or not it is a real or fictional company. |
◊ 2006-06-28 20:23 |
Most likely fictional. If it were real, it would probably be out of business these days. -- Last edit: 2006-06-28 20:24:35 |

It's kinda lame that when Hendershot fires the LAW you can't even see a smoke trail. The target just mysteriously blows up. |

This truck still exzist today but it's still in rough shape after it's been blown up it's still in universal truck lot |

I found the info on the Truck"s" used in this movie for This Truck & the Green Goblin Truck Since Trucks never could driver on there own "In Real Life" during this truck was driven by stuntman Carey Loftin who also drove the truck in Duel & did truck stunts with the truck in the Movie White Line Fever there 3 trucks used to play this autocar and there was 3 because the person who owned the Main truck also owned Truck #2, Truck #3 came from an o/o Truck #1. was a 1966 Autocar A64 B and used in the scene to kill "Duncan" but the whole scene, after this truck "duncan" there are some shots after with a truck with no blood of the front grill of the truck, which truck was the truck with blood in the front of the grill, expect for 3 shot after they free'd Curtiis & wife out there car and when they were running you can see a this truck in the back round chasing them it was this truck, when when the truck takes the corner, where it parks where Truck #3 expldes, minutes before the character truck elxplodes & also before the scene's where it was seen with out the blood on the front grill even after the character truck hits the phone booth, the Visor on the is still in take and is still in the position it's suppose to be in Truck #2 This is the Truck used in the scene's after the character kills "Duncan" where we see the truck with out blood on the front grill, this is the truck that hits the phone booth so, the is the truck that has the visor knocked down to touching the end of the hood there 3 shots were we see this truck with bllod in the front the grill and that is it when they pick up "Duncan's" Body after the truck kills him, When all the trucks start up to surround the dixie boy truck stop and when it was following the '69 International Transtar hauling toliet paper check it out in my link below it was seen in the third shot with blood on the grill directly after this shot! in my link below http://img316.imageshack.us/i/u30035191sx.jpg/ Truck #3 was a 1963 Autocar A64 "No "B" it was a gas job" the truck is only seen right when the truck explodes, cause the bazooka Hendershot was using can only fire once, this truck truck had a time bomb under it, which contained a chemical that they wouldn't have to put another time bomb on the trailer also the trailer would just blow up with the truck, For Dixie boy blow up scene, the State of North Carolina where the movie was filmed wouldn't let the truck blow up a second time the scene because the chemical they used could of caused some very bad environment things such as wild fires, so the truck was simply towed back to universal the night the Green Goblin Truck left & was later scrapeed in '87, but since the the the trailer contained no chemicals it could of been blown up again the truck that was hooded up to the trailer in the dixie boy blow up was the White & Blue MAck B-77 that drove around with the other trucks, but then vanishes for the rest of the movie until the blow up scene, you can see the drivers side fender & part of the drivers side grill mof the Mack B-77 that below up with the trailer in the blow up scene, in the big photo on the top to the left -- Last edit: 2009-09-28 00:26:19 |

One of my favorite trucks in the film. |
◊ 2011-10-01 02:22 |
you can tell that there was atleast 3 trucks cause obouisly when blow something up like that you have to pull the motor and the blood spot on the grill appears on and off when the truck was alive |

Has anyone seen a autocar with Headlamp frames? I Havent. Also, HOW FAST IS THIS THING? it just started up from a short distance! |

This IMO is the most violent truck in the movie |

I do believe that this Autocar A64B was a 1974 Model more so than a 1966 http://forums.justoldtrucks.com/Uploads/Images/64de489b-c0c9-40d6-9ed8-0ec4.jpg |

1/2 - Good News! This truck might've survived filming incredibly! The original truck is in fact a 1975 Autocar A64B-SR, VIN 622HK4783921V91. (VIN is dead apparently because it's so old.) This truck was leased from Velocity Truck Dealers/Triple-T, and the only mod it was really given was that it had "Zeke's" painted on it's cab doors. Most of the trucks used in this film were in terrible condition and that's why they were able to completely destroy them for stunts. It can be assumed this truck was disposed of after filming, but it seems to have survived. A Triple-T location off of I-40 North of Wilmington is located next to a junkyard, and an old red tractor with visible hood and engine damage can be seen on Google Maps from the road. I am certain that this is in fact that truck, a Ford LT-Series dump truck resembling the one also used can also be seen next to it. If anyone is able to, someone should go out to that junkyard and see if this is the Autocar itself, if not, then said person can visit the other locations instead. -- Last edit: 2022-08-06 02:55:11 |

Great research. How shall, conforming with our database, we list this entry? |
◊ 2022-03-08 01:35 |
2/2 - There's more, so here's two more BTS photos of this truck. Not only does it show how they managed to drive this rig, but it also shows a good longside view of it. Take note of the cab painted the same color as the body. As full interiors were made mandatory in 1977, and that this truck doesn't have pre-1970 style fenders, this further instates this truck's year as a 1975. So it should be listed as a 1975 Autocar A64B-SR![]() ![]() Also, if anybody is wondering where the "SR" term came from. Any Autocar that was custom ordered around this time was seemingly given this suffix. ("Special Request" maybe?) For example, a custom ordered AT64F would be an Autocar AT64F-SR. They did this very inconsistently, so there is a possible chance that the truck is just a regular A64B. The headlight housings are what lead me to believe that the truck is one of the obscure "SR" variations. -- Last edit: 2022-10-31 15:41:40 |

I've tried looking up the location you're talking about (I presume you mean the Triple T location on Daisy Scott Road), and I'm not seeing those trucks visible from the road, either at the Triple T or at the (barely visible) junk yard further down. What am I missing? |
◊ 2022-03-08 22:26 |
This is what i'm talking about, the Triple-T off of State Highway 210. The Ford LT-Series' rather clear, although it's kind of hard to see the Autocar. I drew some arrows to point it out. But to be honest, I'm not 100% sure it's the same truck. (Note that the arrow pointing at the Autocar is extremely off, it should be up higher.) ![]() -- Last edit: 2022-03-16 14:56:55 |

I see what you mean now. The left one looks quite a bit like the Ford LT in the movie, though the other one could be just about anything. |

Good New Everyone... I had actually followed up on Bray7's lead and while the Ford Dump Truck is just a typical white dump truck that looks very similar to the one used in Maximum Overdrive I was able to get a title through the mail on the Autocar and everything Bray7 had said about the Autocar is fully accurate including the vin number except for the one minor glitch of the year of the truck that it is actually a 1974 vin number and a 1974 title and isn't a 1975 like Bray7 had said that it was to be So, The truck is indeed a 1974 Autocar A64BSR and should be listed as a 1974 Autocar A64BSR on this site as it is indeed the Autocar that was used during filming I had edited out the rest of the current owner's information out of respect, But, The top half of the title shows all of the harmless details that would be useful for this site that I had wanted to share with Bray7 and the rest of all of you on this site Just to make things clear I also do not take credit in owning the truck as I am not the official owner of it nor do I take credit of even being associated with the truck ![]() -- Last edit: 2023-02-09 10:50:53 |

My class actually did a report in AP US History for school based around an old movie. We had to go deep into the movie's production and unknown aspects etc. Obviously, I picked this film. My report totaled almost 9 pages long! I learned lot's of cool things about the trucks involved and such and even some obscure filming details. Especially when I managed to interview a member of the movie crew. (The same guy who was responsible for the photos leaked on Facebook about a year ago.) This truck in particular seemed to a favorite among the producers according to him. He says that the truck was the most reliable of the handful of trucks that were bought from Triple-T for filming. The Mack B-75 in particular could barely run, and it didn't even appear in the later half of the movie. Allegedly, the truck that was originally supposed to haul the garbage trailer was in fact the White 9064! The reason why it was changed is unknown on my part, but I'm certainly not complaining. The Truck's Progression Through The Movie: ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() There was actually a minor filming accident involving this truck. When the trucks first start circling around the Dixie Boy Truckstop, there's a quick panning shot of the Autocar hitting a phone booth. The truck ended up also hitting a pole, which slammed into it's windshield knocking the visor onto the hood. The person driving the truck sustained minor injuries as a result. The damage was never fixed, and despite this being accidental, the footage still remains in the film. The truck's damage is also clearly visible later on in the film. Just a cool little film fact: ![]() ![]() -- Last edit: 2023-02-15 05:35:21 |
