You can also see a picture of the Transtar II in the picture of the B-61 with the bloody Autocar. The Transtar is the one in picture submitted by antp and it is to the far right in the B-61 photo. |

This is a CO4000 the model before the CO4070 Transtar, and CO4070B Transtar II In the other shots, those are CO4070 Transtars. |

Aye, didn't become a nicer place to live either. Look at your tax bill. |
◊ 2006-03-22 17:08 |
The second Transtar on the bridge must be the same one as the one that hauls the BiC trailer. Look at the color and just look closely on the stickers on the driver`s door. they look just like the ones on the BiC truck. |

BTW,how to differentiate Transtar 2 from Transtar |

The Transtar hauling toilet paper, also gets blown up by Hendershot with his M72 Law Bazooka. |

BiC, it is a real company for sure. And somebody said "Before I saw this movie, I didn't know BiC was exported into the U.S." Well, I seem to have a BiC lighter, with these words in bold print at the bas of it "Made in the U.S.A." |
◊ 2006-06-12 06:21 |
BiC is a huge manufacturere of disposible ballpoint pens. You can pick one up practically anywhere. |
◊ 2006-06-12 10:03 |
I guess they have factories in different places of the world. I think that it is me that said that, since I always knew it was a French company (and so I did not think that it was widely known). http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/BIC_Corporation in Belgium we often use "bic" as name for any ballpoint pens, even those that are not made by Bic ![]() -- Last edit: 2006-06-12 10:03:32 |

The one pictured, the International Harvester Transtar II CO4070. |
Mr. Metalhead ◊ 2006-06-13 07:43 |
I'm talking about the one that flips over Connie & Curt's 1980 Malibu. |
◊ 2006-06-18 19:11 |
It looks just like the black and white toiletpaper rig...... Only with a flatbed trailer with some barrels on. |

Is the one hauling toilet paper a Transtar or a Transtar II? |
Rocker B. J. ◊ 2006-09-04 04:38 |
Answer me please is the one hauling toilet paper really a Transtar or a Transtar II? |
◊ 2006-11-03 22:54 |
Yes, BiC has been exporting ballpoint pens to the USA since 1958. The founder was a French guy named Marcel Bich. However, he dropped the H from his company name to avoid it being pronounced "Bitch". |
◊ 2006-11-30 01:21 |
And I bet you that this one is still hauling somewhere. |

THe truck is a Transtar. YOu can see the difference. |
4x4 23 ◊ 2009-09-28 00:30 |
It's the same truck as the truck that was hauling the toliet paper in at the beginning scene's before the scene when the one Toilet Blew Up with Hendshot's Bazooka |
4x4 23 ◊ 2009-09-28 00:39 |
The BIC was a 1974 International Transtar II Leased by BIC for fimlming, the truck does infact knocl over a canopy then was driven back to Universal next & the same night that dixie boy truck exploded, the truck was returned to BIC the night they belw truck the dixie boy truck stop the truck that was blown with the dixie boy truck stop was the '69 International Transtar that was hauling the toliet paper "15" trailer & the Flatbed truck the fliped over Curtis' & Connie's Car hood up to the flat bed the BIC Truck was hauling, the other Transtar was a '68 International Transtar that belw up with the "15" Toliet Paper trailer, that truck also later blew up again with the dixie boy truck stop, the truck that is visible on the bridge is a '73 International Harvester Transtar II 4000 series, also seen hauling a chrome tanker on the bridge also, the truck is seen plenty of times actually at the dixie boy truck it explodes at the end with the trailer the '76 Brockway 400 Hauled with the dixie boy truck stop & yes it does start up from time to time and drive with the other trucks like the Mack B-77 the other orange International seen on the bridge scene is the '74 BIC Truck the BIC is owned by some o/o where it's still hauling today, he also owns the BIC Trailer in the movie also! -- Last edit: 2009-09-29 21:18:51 |
4x4 23 ◊ 2009-09-29 21:22 |
yes, the BIC Truck is still in suvice today by an o/o that's the only truck that survived the movie in this thread |
◊ 2009-12-01 01:18 |
the BiC the truck was a 1976 International Harvest Transtar II, this truck is for sale on Truckpaper.com although it's been transformed into a Tag Along Axle truck http://www.truckpaper.com/listingsdetail/detail.aspx?OHID=1947905 |

◊ 2009-12-17 03:01 |
You do have good point antp it could be another truck because it seemed wider then this truck |
◊ 2010-12-31 18:43 |
The truck pictured is a C/O4000. The Transtar name came out later with C/O4070. Then the cab was modified, raised, and became the C/O4070B Transtar II. Transtar II has the wipers above the windshield, has squared headlight bezels and steps below the doors. |
◊ 2011-02-13 22:39 |
no it's a different truck, but I will give you that this BiC truck in the movie is a 1976, cause look at this link below vs. a 1974 truck http://www.hankstruckpictures.com/pix/trucks/barney_sipes/2004/feb/file0025.jpg and here's a 1974 in the link below http://www.hankstruckpictures.com/pix/trucks/macneil/2004/apr28/uvl_ih.jpg they had a wider and painted grill in 1974 unlike this more narrow some what chrome one on this truck, the painted grill's ended in 1976, so yes this truck is atleast a 1976, he's right about that |
◊ 2011-02-25 19:02 |
Bj is right the truck is a 1976, they had the wider and painted grill for the Transtars in 1975 and older, then the more narrow Silver/Chrome Grills, very oldest this truck can be is a 1976 |
◊ 2012-03-25 06:13 |
I agree too, it's not a 1974 but a 1976 Link to "3.bp.blogspot.com" |
◊ 2012-03-28 03:07 |
Yea, I agree too, it's a 1976 not a 74 |

◊ 2012-06-29 20:54 |
those trucks are awsome ![]() |
◊ 2012-07-06 06:56 |
This truck is not a 1976 Transtar II. It is a late 60s CO4000. |
◊ 2012-07-15 22:06 |
If the Happy Toyz truck is the "main star", this has to be the #1 "co-star" |
◊ 2013-04-25 19:36 |
Not a Transtar II, it's a CO-4000. |

A different truck can be seen pulling this truck's trailer, albeit without the logo. Seconds later this truck passes as seen in the first photo. Also I noticed how different the grill design was for the toilet paper/flatbed truck. And in fact, the truck is actually an original Transtar I! Specifically it's a 1968 International Harvester Transtar CO-4070. Note the lack of an IH logo, and the different grill design. Here's a progression of the truck's paint jobs: Starting with it's greyish-blue original paint job seen in the bridge scene. Then it's grill was painted black and it was intended to be used with the liquid oxygen tanker. ![]() ![]() Next the truck was given it's signature black and white paint job. And then it's front was painted over black for when it was blown up, it's original grey/blue paint can be seen when the mule pulls alongside it. ![]() ![]() ![]() I also added this truck so hopefully somebody see's this comment explaining why I added it, mainly because it's not a CO-4000 it's a CO-4070. |

As previously mentioned, there is another International seen here as Curtis & Connie pass by a convoy of trucks on the way to the Dixie Boy. The Trailer shown is similar to the BiC Trailer but it has no logo, so it's either a different trailer or the logo has been removed. ![]() ![]() Also, another Truck is seen in the same convoy scene, but with a different truck. The trailer seems be much cleaner than the other two. ![]() ![]() ![]() |
◊ 2023-06-25 22:31 |
Here's a more aerial view of the Truck & Trailer. As shown in the images above, the only one it seems really similar to this is that same international hauling a similar dirty trailer, just with the logos removed possibly, or maybe it ain't the same at all.![]() |
