Crash scene: The question is: is it a real Ferrari in that scene? |

Ferrari 250 GT LWB "TdF" Berlinetta .... there were 2 cars in LA with altered front bonnet 250 GT SWB hinges ... one was 1141GT but this car was always silver ... best to look it up at www.barchetta.cc |

Seems not to be the same car in the crashe scene - even not a Ferrari: |

My thought was an Austin Healey 100 with a lot of cardboard disguise, but some suggestions also for XK120. And imdb says "The Count's (very expensive) Ferrari 250 GT suddenly transforms into a Daimler 250 SP Dart right before it crashes." -- Last edit: 2012-02-14 14:57:16 |

When it rolls, I saw some very 250 SP Dart-like fins on it. |

I'm going to say it is a Jaguar XK120 FHC when it crashes |

My guess is that it is the same Diamler SP250 Dart (repainted red )that is seen in the background in the early scene when Ann Margret shows up in the TR-3....like 14stutz says above, the crashed car has SP250 fins.......... |

I'm now fairly sure crash car is XK120 FHCoupe with dummy added fins - distinctive cockpit/door shape which does not fit SP250 and doesn't quite match A-H 3000 |

I'd say 120 fhc was the crash car, with some fins stuck on. There is a 120 wreaked earlier in the race sequence. Even back then the filmakers realized a Ferrari like this one shouldn't be destroyed. |
