(After a long day correcting exams I really needed something interesting! ) I think it is not homemade but a commercially available snowmobile conversion. Such conversions existed already for the Model T supplied by several companies, like the fittingly named 'The Snowmobile Company': http://www.arago.si.edu/index.asp?con=2&cmd=1&id=36905 I haven't seen this Model A conversion, but obviously it has survived. I would love to learn more about it. Any further information in the credits?
