Who makes this? Is it GM? Greatly resembles a Chevrolet Cavalier in America. Just wondering

Vauxhall is a make of GM, so it may be similar indeed.

It's a 1983+ Cavalier MkII Estate. It seems that it was made in Australia by Holden and assembled in UK.

In Europe the[J-Car]was available as wagon only under Vauxhall Brand(don't exist none Opel version of it),that was named as Cavalier Mk2 Estate

PS In the same production period that body was available also in AUS market, rebadged as Holden Camira, slightly reworked at front and back ends

The Vauxhall Cavalier and the Chevrolet Cavalier were both 'J-body' cars.

According to Wikipedia, the Vauxhall Cavalier estate used body panels made by Holden.

Indeed, the Estate is a Holden design.

^ the Estate did not receive the repeater until MY 1986 per the brochures. (10.85) is when the brochure is printed. Higher trim levels received repeaters earlier in the run.

Glass's lists all Cavs across trim levels and bodies as getting side indicators from Sep 85. Which makes sense as it means no fiddling about with different wing pressings on the production lines. I think all Cav estates were built in Luton - nowhere else - using imported Holden rear body assemblies.

Good to know! I don’t mind updating as I am going through them as time permits. Not too many to ask sir admin to block update.
