I must be getting soft in my old age, I'm developing a liking for 1300GT's.

There's a thing for stuffing big bike engines in Minis, can't be any more difficult in one of these?

ELL 122J = Sept 70, Greater London (Central) so Mk2. Impossible to split Austin or Morris without badge close-ups, but we've seen this one before.

Don’t see any problems with the mechanical changes, if the bits are available for Minis presumably they would work on one of these. Don’t fancy the idea of driving one with say 120 bhp on hydrolastic suspension, seasick or what?

I liked the ADO16 as an honest but interesting car - lots of family or friends had them when I was a kid. But the 1300 GT was the boy-racer version with tacky plastic bits inside and out. Given that VdPs and Rileys have shot up in price after all the good ones went to Japan, maybe an MG or Wolseley would work, in a discreet dark colour (Black Tulip??) and maybe Minilites (which do look good on an ADO16) as the only clue to its capabilities. And the normal 1275cc could be relatively easily upgraded to 1990s Mini Cooper spec without the grief of engineering an alien transplant.
