Since the make exists, I thought it would be that (this scene is in Romania, so a romanian make was logical) http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Roman(trucks) |

ROMAN is correct. This is one of the few Romanian truck makers with the official name "Intreprinderea de Autocamioane Brasov". They started making cars and trucks in the early 1920s with BMW engines. Later they only built locomotives, but returned to truck making in 1954 building Soviet ZIS. Since 1969 a cooperation with MAN led to the change of the name to ROMAN (= Romanian MAN). "F8" is certainly right for the lookalike MAN. Until we know better we should use it for the ROMAN, too. The suggested numbering, that shows the gross weight and the horsepower, is not necessarily correct. -- Last edit: 2005-10-09 17:39:44 |

As licence make of MAN truck, this ROMAN used the cabine developped by SAVIEM for the common range of MAN and SAVIEM in the seventies (both powered by MAN engines) |
