This movie is a very good example of a warmovie. Burt Lancaster is playing a hardened french railroad chief of transport trying to save wagonloads full off paintings off Gaugin, van Gogh and others from the hands of Hermann Göring. While underway to Germany he try's to differt the train to Switzerland. In the railroad stations underway, trouble gets thougher and thougher. In the movie there are plenty of scenes with wartime vehicles. Very good entertainment for ww2 fans. |
