I think NZcarnerd is right about this being a Hudson. And if it is a 1939 model (and the grille matches) it has to be the Series 112, since all other (bigger) models in 1939 had built in headlights. |

Agree on Hudson, or possibly a Terraplane, but 1937. It looks big enough to be a Hudson. The 1939 Hudson 112 resembles from the side but the hood trim is different. Hudson Six, or Country Club 8? |

Can't be a '37 as that model has the 'fencers mask' grille. This has to be a '39. I am not well enough up on the body types but from the comments here it has to be a 112. Can't make out the logo on the door but maybe it is some kind of government vehicle which would suggest it is not an upmarket model. -- Last edit: 2007-07-19 10:37:54 |

It´s too long to be a Hudson 112, all side windows are smaller on those. We don´t see much of the grille here, but what is visible is the top of the waterfall like grille with chrome running down from the hood. The 1939 models have lower grilles, and they have two chrome stripes along the sides, but on the 112 models the trim ends with the hood as far as I can see on the pictures I have. On the larger models the chrometrim runs all the way to the rear like on this one. The sidetrim on this one match the 1937 models and I don´t think you could get a Hudson 112 with a trunk like this either. Comparing with the Hudson Eight -37 below which would ride on a 127 inch chassis I guess this one is a Six riding on the 120 inch chassis. 1937 Hudson 6 passenger Touring Sedan on the 122 inch chassis.It is probably a six but could be an eight as well , since both power plants were mounted on that chassis.The eights used 6.25 X 16 inch tires against 6.0 X 16 for the sixes.The long chassis 1937 models of 129 inch were available in an eight and custom eight version only and are much longer. |
