The following is complicated and probably quite boring. ![]() Looking at the 1080p high definition trailer, the white bus looks like a Dennis Dart/Plaxton Pointer and the green bus appears to be the back of a Mercedes-Benz (it's got a logo on a black panel just below the rear window, with writing at each side, like on recent Mercedes buses). However, I'm pretty sure that the wide shot has been flipped, perhaps just for the trailer (and you have to view the HD trailer to see this properly). The white bus has an emergency door just before the last window, exactly where it would be on a Pointer, except on the other side. However, in the close-up of the bus's front the children are running from the opposite direction and passing in front of the bus. This makes sense if a right hand drive bus is parked with its offside facing the school building -- the children coming out of the school have to go around the front of the bus to get on board. Ok, why would they flip the film? I think the studio's executives decided that American audiences watching the trailer would be puzzled by the fact that Will, the hero, is American but living in England. So they flipped the wide shot, making the driver's side the left instead of the right, and dubbed an American voice onto the boy in the bus who speaks to Will. This is definitely a Dennis Dart with a Pointer body. |
