This is a 1907 Model K Cadillac. In 1907 they flattened off the front of the fenders and added inner skirts to them. |

It´s written Cadillac 1903 on it, but that doesn´t necessarily have to be correct. Who ever did that probably wished to make it older than it was. |

On the side of this car is written "Cadillac 1903" (first small image) but that is obviously incorrect as it features the rounded dashboard of Cadillacs from 1906-1908. It's a 4-seater car with what appears to be a full width front seat and no rear doors to the tonneau. There were two 4-seater body styles on the single-cylinder Model M chassis for 1907: one had twin (split) front seats as well as side doors; the other featured a folding rear tonneau seat and no side doors; it had a distinct styling feature in that the body below the rear seat bulged outwards. So this car is a bit of a mystery. IMHO it consists of a 1906-07 Cadillac chassis on which an older, 4-seater body has been retro-fitted. Back in the day, you could buy a bare Cadillac chassis and add a body of your choice. This one looks to me like it carries a "Surrey" body from the 1904 production. Any other opinions? |

The body might have been made for the car by a local manufacturer when new, or taken from another car during it´s lifetime. It´s not easy to know about these old ones. But how about the model? Shall we keep it as Model K, or is Model M more likely? Or maybe just Cadillac 1906? |

I would call it a "modified 1906-07 Cadillac Model M", but I don't think there's room for a full title like that in ANTP's designation system. I suggest we just leave it as it is ("1907 Cadillac Model K"). For more information about specific cars, Database users can always refer to our combined comments. |
