This is a bus belonging to CIE, the former Irish state-owned railway and bus operator. (Note the blank white circles pasted over the CIE emblem.) Apparently it's a Leyland (Atlantean?) AN68 with Irish-built Van Hool McArdle bodywork. http://www.freewebs.com/eirebus2006/ddfvanhool.htm -- Last edit: 2007-08-03 00:34:15 |

Why 1976? If I've identified it correctly, this model was introduced in 1974. |

I also think Atlantean http://www.preservedirishtransport.com/van_hool_AN68_gallery.htm -- Last edit: 2007-08-03 21:49:32 |

It's a Leyland Atlantean AN68/1R with Van Hool-McArdle body as stated - the registration plate is a fake to cover the fact that it's shot in Ireland. Either two vehicles were used or the same one twice with different registrations! |

The bus in the night-time scene appears to have the same advertisement on the side, so they're probably the same bus with different number plates. |

Should have a 'made for Ireland' tag as these were unique to this country. |

"Made for" indicates a model different than the normal one (name or visible details), here it is rather a model which existed only there, so the "normal" one |

The Irish ones had some exterior differences (i.e. the arrangement of the exterior lights was different to the British ones). http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=E93VzlEYGmM |

But the Van Hool McArdle body was only sold in Ireland anyway, wasn't it? |

True, they were made in Ireland too (in Inchicore in Dublin). |
