Plastic headlamps were illegal in the US until 1984 right? So this must be a 1984 model right? When I look up 83-86 tercel I dont see any with plastic headlamps but these dont look like sealed beam unless its the way the light is reflecting. -- Last edit: 2007-08-03 23:52:40 |

It is the the way the light is reflecting. The headlamps on this model were rectangular sealed beams. Toytota put flush headlamps on the Tercel circa 1990 (and then only on the more expensive models). |

Pokeoddspogne is correct. Our government relaxed the headlight standard on all cars around 1987 model year. Lincoln Continental Mark VII did introduced the composite headlight as early as 1984. |
